The 2025 theme for Social Worker Month is Social Work: Compassion + Action. This is exactly what social workers are all about! They care about our patients and each day they help many individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. This is a great month to learn a little more about what social workers do at the Clinic and all the ways they help to keep our patients and our community healthy.

At Peoples Clinic we currently have 11 social workers who work with a variety of programs and integrated care within the Clinic. Our clinical social workers work as therapists, counselors, and with our Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program. Social workers lead our Homeless Outreach Program and provide connection with other agencies in our community who are working with those who are experiencing homelessness. Medical social workers are embedded in all of our departments and work directly with providers to help to facilitate a higher quality of care for our patients by addressing barriers to good health.

This month, thank the social workers you work with as we express our appreciation for this diverse group of professionals within the Clinic.
